Lonza

Paralegal 80-100% (m/f/d)

CH - Basel Part time

This role provides essential support to the Legal Department on corporate governance, commercial register filings, and administrative excellence. You will act as a key coordinator for all Swiss Lonza entities, ensuring legal compliance and operational efficiency while working closely with legal counsel and international stakeholders.

What you will get:

  • An agile career and a dynamic work culture.

  • An inclusive and ethical workplace.

  • Compensation programs that recognize high performance.

In addition to a competitive salary, you can expect numerous lifestyle, family, and leisure benefits. Our full list of tailored local benefits can be found below.

What you will do:

  • Manage all commercial register updates (entries, changes, and deletions) for Swiss Lonza entities, drafting resolutions and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Support the administration of contracts throughout their lifecycle using the CLM tool (e.g. maintaining contract records, updating metadata, tracking deadlines, and coordinating review and signature processes including notarization as needed).

  • Take ownership of the Legal Proceedings Report (LPR) three times a year, ensuring all data is accurate and submitted on schedule.

  • Conduct in-depth research to assist the legal team in navigating complex corporate or commercial legal matters and routine legal inquiries.

  • Act as a liaison between the legal department, international law firms, and notary offices to drive cross-border projects.

  • Oversee the Basel legal team’s shared inbox, handle travel arrangements, process expenses, and manage vendor invoices and payments.

  • Organize global retreats and events while maintaining an efficient archiving system for all critical legal documentation.

What we are looking for:

  • 5–10 years of experience in a Paralegal role, either within an in-house legal department or a private law practice.

  • In-depth knowledge of legal terminology, corporate law principles, and the ability to analyze complex documents for accuracy.

  • Advanced computer skills and experience managing digital signature platforms and financial processing tools.

  • Business fluency in English and German is required; French proficiency is a significant advantage for managing Swiss entity filings.

  • Ideally an Executive Assistant with legal experience, a Paralegal certificate, or a University degree in Law (BLaw/MLaw) or Business.

  • A respectful, patient, and tactful communicator who thrives in a collaborative team and handles confidential information with the utmost integrity.

  • The ability to prioritize a high volume of information under tight schedules while remaining flexible to support the team’s needs.
