As part of the Drug Product Division (DPD), our Cincinnati, Ohio site offers a range of drug development and commercial manufacturing services. The Drug Product Division - North America (DPD-NA) is one of the five divisions that make up the Pharma Services Group. Hours: 6am-6:30pm Thursday – Saturday

How does the Packaging Unit Coordinator give to results?

The Unit Coordinator of our Packaging Team is a critical component for influencing and motivating our team to address new challenges, realize their full potential, and facilitate a positive and engaging work environment. You will coordinate a team of operators to achieve results in the day-to-day operations. This individual will have the ability to aid in coordinating career development plans, promote continuous improvement, uphold outstanding quality for our customers, and cultivate cross-functional relationships to accomplish department objectives aligned with organizational goals. In addition, this role will collaborate in improving overall safety, delivery, and facilitate cost-saving projects throughout the department.

What will you do?

  • Lead the team in promoting premier safety
  • Cultivate a right first-time quality mentality by leading investigations into process failures and product failures
  • Identify and put into effect suitable measures for correction and prevention
  • Assists in defining efficiency performance benchmarks and attaining results to fulfill organizational objectives
  • Optimally review metrics to benchmark and drive team performance
  • Recommend and coordinate improvement activities production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
  • Implements Practical Process Improvements (PPI) with significant team member participation and enthusiasm, and apply lean methodologies to achieve process efficiencies
  • Works alongside team members and planning/purchasing teams to develop and implement a manufacturing schedule to meet customer demands
  • Participates in internal and external audits, responds to audit observations, identifies, and implements appropriate corrective and preventive actions
  • Ensure coordination and administration of training sessions as required, based on new SOPs and revisions to existing SOPs


Keys to Success:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required

Experience

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience in a regulated environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Previous experience as a group leader or lead operator in packaging or manufacturing is helpful. Confirmed leadership experience or training is required
  • High school diploma required
  • Candidates with the background of operating within a cleanroom setting are highly desired
  • Troubleshooting, assembly, and testing skills required
  • Knowledge of packaging equipment set up and adjustments, packaging formats and packaging documentation is preferred
  • Working knowledge of applicable SOPs, GMPs, LPRs and quality test methods is preferred
