Job Summary:
Diversey is seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer to provide technical expertise and support to our Diversey product portfolio for packaging material qualification. The focus of this role will be to validate & approve packaging materials and provide support to Supply Chain / Sourcing in New product initiatives. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated knowledgeable individual that can solve a wide variety of problems related to packaging materials, has strong packaging technical background and manage and prioritize shorter term projects. The individual in this position will effectively partner with other departments such as manufacturing, Quality, formulators and sourcing leads. The individual will manage packaging Material qualification projects, laboratory managements, testings etc. The packaging engineer must have strong technical know-how of moulding, lamination & printing processes. He should also understand filling and packing lines operations
• Conduct laboratory experiments to develop packaging specifications as per the new product brief, perform field trials & execute transit trial to validate packaging specifications.
• Develop packaging test methods, & perform laboratory tests to validate CP methods.
• Deliver right first time product functionality test as per the product brief and ensure 100% compliance to Solenis safety standards.
• Create and manage packaging specifications database to comply with Solenis QMS and R&D standards. Maintain UN approvals of packaging materials.
• Create technical dockets to facilitate on time in full NPI deliverables.
• Deliver R&D packaging projects to facilitate quality complaints related to packaging design.
• Evaluate and approve new packaging vendors and off-the-shelf solutions to enhance sourcing flexibility.
• Follow laboratory best practices and up keep equipments as per R&D standards and packaging laboratory safety guidelines. Calibrate packaging testing equipment as per schedule. Works closely with regional regulatory department in order to get input for regulatory matters or support.
KPIs Responsibility:
• Execute packaging development projects & deliver project requirements On-time-in-full.
• 100% compliance to R&D standards & Solenis safety guidelines.
• Independently deliver quality output for all the packaging development projects, validate right first time packaging tests methods.
• Always stay complied with packaging technical database, update specifications and adhere to ISO standards as per QMS requirements.
• Highest level of engagement and collaboration with cross functional team including global test facilities, external vendors, laboratories and academies.
