IT Manager – Financial Services (Life & Pensions)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Manager to lead the technology operations supporting our 80+ staff in Pune, India. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services with proven expertise in Life & Pensions systems. This role requires hands-on leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to deliver high-quality IT services in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Operations Management
    • Manage local IT development, QA and system architecture teams.
    • Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and information security policies.
  • Team Leadership & Vendor Management
    • Lead and mentor the local IT team, ensuring skills and capabilities meet business demands.
    • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers for hardware, software, and support contracts.
  • Application & Business Support
    • Provide operational support for Life & Pensions platforms and related financial services applications.
    • Collaborate with global IT teams to implement and maintain enterprise solutions.
    • Coordinate with business stakeholders to ensure IT services meet operational and project requirements.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Implement and monitor cybersecurity best practices in line with corporate and regulatory standards.
    • Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives relevant to financial services operations.
  • Project Delivery
    • Manage IT projects, including Developments, upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
    • Deliver solutions on time, within budget, and aligned with corporate strategy.

Key Requirements:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in financial services IT, with strong knowledge of Life & Pensions systems and processes.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure management, networking, cloud platforms (preferably Azure), and enterprise applications.
  • Demonstrated vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
  • Hands-on knowledge of ITIL processes and service management best practices.
  • Experience with IT governance, risk, and compliance frameworks relevant to regulated industries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Relevant security or cloud certifications (e.g., CISSP, Azure Administrator) desirable.
