The position of Outpatient Therapist calls for a professionally licensed clinician (Fully or provisionally licensed) with direct experience and skill in treating a range of behavioral health issues. The position requires an individual who can treat and be successful at assessing and treating co-occurring disorders including mental illness, personality disorders, and challenges in primary or secondary support systems. The position includes active engagement and coordination of care with internal resources including psychiatry as well as external bodies including the legal systems, families, and social support agencies. The position calls for organization, frequent communication and critical thinking. The position requires the individual to be an active and positive member of the clinical team. Based on setting, special skills and/or work with specific populations will be required. The position relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment to provide quality services with very little supervision and direction. Must be an individual that holds a license issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession. Some services may require additional experience, licensure, or education.

LOCATION: Taylorsville

SALARY: $48,000 -$52,000 based on licensure and experience
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday- no weekends or on call

We are seeking compassionate and positive clinical professionals to provide therapeutic support for service users with mental health, behavioral health and substance abuse issues.

As a clinician with RHA, you will coordinate and monitor the array of services and supports identified in each service user’s person-centered plan. These interventions are strength-based and focus on the promotion of recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills and the achievement of the highest level of social functioning.

Job Responsibilities

As a clinician with RHA, your responsibilities will vary based on the groups you work with and the programs through which you provide services. In all activities, you will coordinate closely with the interdisciplinary team to best help service users, including behavioral health specialists, registered nurses, quality assurance specialists, paraprofessionals and the Clinical Director.

Additional responsibilities of the Clinical Social Worker include:

Conducting Clinical Assessments

Running individual, family and group outpatient therapy sessions

Conducting inpatient group therapy sessions

Orienting new service users to RHA

Developing person-centered plans for service users

Oversee the discharge planning process

Facilitating relationships between RHA, service user families/legal guardians and various social service community resources, such as food stamp and housing assistance, healthcare, job training and placement and substance abuse support groups

Our ideal candidate functions well in a team setting, excellent communicator and listener, is organized, flexible and self-motivated to be the best version of themselves. You must also excel at behavioral interviewing techniques to uncover service user needs and be able to anticipate these needs.

Additional requirements for the Licensed Clinical Social Worker include:

Graduate degree in Social Work or a related field

Valid licensure to provide mental/behavioral healthcare in the state of North Carolina

Minimum 2 years’ experience working with individuals with mental and/or behavioral health issues that includes writing person-centered plans, conducting effective group therapy and providing mental health diagnoses

General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina

Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation

Ability to pass a drug screen and background check

Ability to lift between 20 and 50 pounds and meet the physical requirements of performing CPR and therapeutic holds

Employee supervisory experience preferred

Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
