• The Lactation Consultant is responsible for providing lactation consultation and education for breastfeeding mothers at Alta Bates Medical Center regardless of age, race, religion, ability, and economic or social status.Job Description:
EDUCATION
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Required.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
RN-Registered Nurse of California Required
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Required
CLE-Certified Lactation Educator Required
IBCLC-International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, within 2 years of employment Required
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years of experience in perinatal nursing or perinatal education Preferred. Minimum two years of experience counseling breastfeeding women Preferred.
Experience supporting breastfeeding in NICU preferred

Pay Range is $86.68 to $114.41 / hourThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
