Role Overview

The OSC Specialist (Singapore) is a role served by experienced financial technologists with responsibilities that include providing production-level operational oversight and customer support across Cboe's platforms — with an initial focus on the Cboe Global Indices platform which operates 24x7. The role is expected to rapidly develop to include support capabilities across the broader Data Vantage suite of products and Cboe Titanium global market platforms, providing monitoring and supplementary support across those environments as proficiency grows.

This position operates on a four-day work week, consisting of 8-hour shifts on Fridays and Mondays, and 12-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays — with weekend shift hours specifically structured to align with and provide a seamless hand-off from Cboe's US-based weekend operations team. The role carries direct ownership of Incident Management during the Singapore weekend shift window, including incident triage, escalation, stakeholder communication, and post-incident documentation — ensuring that production events occurring outside of standard weekday coverage windows are handled with the same rigor and urgency as those during the core trading week.

The Singapore-based OSC Specialist is responsible for providing first-level world-class support in conjunction with solving problems, monitoring systems, and ensuring platforms maintain a healthy state — troubleshooting when they do not. Individuals in this role will act as a liaison between different stakeholders including global and regional banks, buy-side firms, corporates, prime brokers, and vendors, along with internal business and technology teams. An OSC Specialist must be able to work independently with little to no direct supervision in performing their duties and will have many opportunities to provide input into the full lifecycle of projects and to directly impact the success of the Singapore team and the greater organization.

Based on follow-the-sun coverage needs, work schedules may need to adjust throughout the year during daylight savings time to provide for overlapping support schedules with other regions.

Major Job Duties

Incident Management — Weekend Ownership: Own the Incident Management function during the Singapore weekend shift. Lead incident triage, root cause analysis, escalation, and stakeholder communication for all production events affecting Cboe platforms — including Cboe Global Indices, Data Vantage, and Cboe Titanium — during the weekend coverage window. Ensure timely and accurate incident documentation, drive escalation to on-call engineering and senior operations staff as warranted, and complete post-incident records to support root cause analysis and remediation tracking during the following business week.

System Monitoring & Platform Health — Cboe Global Indices: Serve as the primary operational monitor for the Cboe Global Indices platform during the Singapore weekend shift. Perform health checks, review audit logs to verify system changes, and ensure platforms are operating as expected on a 24x7 basis. Monitor database health tools and batch processing pipelines. Take direct action to resolve known issues and escalate novel issues through appropriate channels.

Platform Monitoring Growth — Data Vantage & Titanium: Rapidly develop platform familiarity and monitoring capability across Cboe's Data Vantage suite of products (e.g., Hanweck, LiveVol, Silexx, Indices, DataShop) and Cboe Titanium global market platforms. Provide monitoring coverage and supplementary operational support for these platforms during the weekend shift as proficiency is established, contributing to continuous coverage across Cboe's full platform portfolio.

US Hand-Off Coordination: Execute structured hand-off processes at the start and end of each weekend shift — receiving the operational status, open incidents, and outstanding items from the US-based weekend team at shift start, and providing a complete, documented status handover to the incoming team at shift end. Ensure continuity of awareness and action across the US-to-Singapore and Singapore-to-US transitions.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Perform analytical functions to troubleshoot and explain complex technical and/or data issues, conduct root cause analysis and impact analysis, and resolve customer and platform issues related to Cboe's APIs (market data, order entry, web service). Investigate error logs and data dissemination issues, troubleshoot network issues, and review relevant system logs. Utilize Linux file systems to access system files and directories as part of troubleshooting and resolution.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize SQL to conduct data mining against databases, a UNIX shell to examine log files, and Cboe proprietary tools to gather and analyze data, provide reports, and service the needs of customers and business teams. Leverage experience with file transfer processing and cloud technology (e.g., AWS) as applicable.

Customer Support: Provide customers and sales support related to platform behavior, data delivery, and feature/functions during the weekend coverage window. Provide timely and professional outbound communications (internal and external) servicing OSC support queues and providing customer phone support to the "Deliver Plus One" standard.

Platform Change & Testing: Test changes to systems and platform functionality prior to deployment and work with the software engineering team to resolve systemic issues. Lead and participate in internal and industry-wide weekend testing activities — a core component of the weekend operations schedule.

Procedures & Documentation: Update internal technical and operations procedures within the Operations team's Confluence space. Draft technical notices and updates to technical specifications as required.

The ideal candidate has:

Bachelor's Degree: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Business, FinTech, Financial Services, Communications, or a related discipline.

4+ years - Securities-related or technical support position including experience with options, equities, futures, index, and/or currency market data, market analytics (e.g., Time and Sales, Earnings, Volatilities), and proficiency analyzing financial market data

3+ years - UNIX / Linux Shell including experience with file transfer processing

2+ years - Cloud Technology (e.g., AWS, GCP, …)

1+ years - SQL

1+ years - Agile Development Methodology

Work Schedule

This position operates on a four-day work week:

Friday - 8 hours

Saturday - 12 hours

Sunday - 12 hours

Monday - 8 hours

Weekend shift hours are specifically structured to provide a seamless operational hand-off from Cboe's US-based weekend operations team, ensuring continuous platform coverage and incident management ownership across the US-to-APAC transition window.

Communication & Language Skills:

Fluency in English — both written and spoken — is required. This role is the primary point of operational ownership during the Singapore weekend shift and serves as a critical communication bridge between Cboe's Singapore presence and its US-based operations team. The ability to communicate clearly and precisely in English — including during incident management, US hand-off coordination, and customer support scenarios — is essential to maintaining continuous and effective operations across the weekend coverage window.

Mandarin Chinese fluency is highly desirable.

Korean fluency is desirable.

Japanese fluency is desirable.
