Position Overview:
The Orthopedic Technician provides specialized support in the care and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. This role includes applying and removing casts and splints, assisting with orthopedic procedures, preparing and maintaining equipment, and supporting clinical staff to ensure safe and efficient patient care. The Orthopedic Technician works closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to deliver high quality orthopedic services.

EDUCATION:
- HS Diploma: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- ORTHO-Orthopedic Technician certification
- OR Graduate of an orthopedic technician college
- OR Military training as an orthopedic technician
- OR equivalent experience
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 1 year of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- General knowledge of orthopedic principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
- Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

Pay Range is $33.46 to $41.82 / hour
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
