Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented Optical Receiving Inspector 3 to join our team in Apopka, Florida.
The successful candidate is required to demonstrate a strong work ethic and consistently pays close attention to detailed operations. Works effectively in a team environment and be able to prioritize and adjust tasks to achieve project goals. Makes decisions that impact the organization’s credibility, operations, and services, and communicates effectively even in environments with ambient noise.
What You'll Get To Do:
Inspects purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements. Inspects for proper identity and dimensions using such measuring devices as micrometers, gauges, and calipers. Visually inspects for obvious defects or damage such as corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, and pits. Verifies specifications using purchase orders, blueprints, drawing or inspection instructions, and checklists. Makes pass/fail decisions on inspected goods. Maintains records of results. Inspections may involve compound angles or three-dimensional projections using inspection equipment such as microscopes, micrometers, telescope gauges, and optical comparators.
Basic Qualifications:
Associates degree and 2 years of experience in assembly, machining, mechanical inspection, or other equivalent experience: or a High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of experience in assembly, machining, mechanical inspection, or other equivalent experience.
Optical experience to include Zygo (Interferometer), Autocollimator, Mil-O-13830: scratch/digs & black box inspection, Optical coatings, and Perkins Elmer (Spectrophotometer)
Experience in advanced mathematical calculations.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) government security clearance.
U.S citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
AS/BS degree or higher
Six or more years of experience in manufacturing
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
Strong understanding of GD&T standards and their application
IPC 610 Certification
IPC 620 Certification
Certifications in Nondestructive Testing (Visual weld inspection)
Experience with CAD/CAM and 3D Modeling software.
