This is a contingent position based upon contract award anticipated in June 2027

KBR is in search of a skilled Facilities Operations Manager to lead overall operations, maintenance, and performance supporting a government client with locations in the Northern Virginia Area. You will manage a team of specialists, focusing on operational effectiveness, maintenance, safety, and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, analytical acumen, an eye for detail, and a proven ability to make decisions and adhere to strict deadlines.

This is a 24x7 operation which requires provision of on-call support.  Your role transcends conventional limits, placing a premium on the solid availability of essential systems. It's imperative that these systems remain operational without interruption.  Your vigilant oversight and proactive maintenance strategies are the cornerstones of our commitment to delivering stellar customer service. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the Facilities' Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and repairs program to include predictive and preventive maintenance including but not limited to: general maintenance of buildings/structures, ground services, engineering, fire protection/life safety, security, O&M, ground services, construction renovations, and custodial. 

  • Develop equipment maintenance scheduling plans; Maintenance, testing, and inspection of appropriate equipment and systems shall be done in accordance with original equipment manufacturers' (OEM) instructions and recommendations

  • Utilize industry standard practices as a means of predictive maintenance for applicable service areas

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the planned maintenance program, and implement any necessary modifications leading to the reduction of equipment failures or make recommendations for altering the planned maintenance program to increase efficiency

  • Formulate and enforce operational and maintenance standards that support company objectives, contractual requirements and comply with regulatory and environmental standards

  • Hire, train and lead a competent workforce to be flexible and technically savvy

  • Manage operational activities to align with the overarching contract and mission requirements, ensure smooth site operations and guarantee the continuity of critical infrastructure operations, with a commitment to reliability for around-the-clock mission support

  • Implement work processes and leverage data analysis to assist clients with achieving reliable equipment performance at cost-effective rates

  • Communicate effectively with diverse teams, responding to questions, and solving a range of operational issues

  • Apply corporate standards diligently and uphold strict adherence to environmental, health & safety, and regulatory requirements

  • Keep a close watch on contractual obligations and stay informed of any regulatory changes that impact facility operations

Qualifications

Required:

  • Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with polygraph

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of facilities operations experience supporting programs of similar scope, size and complexity

  • A minimum of two (2) consecutive years of supervisory experience in the field of facilities maintenance

  • Personnel management experience with excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience working in 24x7x365 operational environments requiring close coordination with mission operations

  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing daily/weekly/monthly work plans

  • Demonstrated experience incorporating applicable environmental health and safety practices across responsible work areas

  • Ability to read construction design and equipment drawings

  • Knowledge of process improvement models (e.g LEAN/Six Sigma, ISO 9000)

  • Ability to reliably operate in a complex and changing environment, demonstrating solid independent judgment
