Job Summary: About the position: This position is a RPT (part-time) Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) position assigned to the Pines Golf Course on Joint Base Langley-Eustis VA - Ft Eustis location. Position is guaranteed 20 hours per week. This position may be subject to holidays, nights, weekends and on-call work.

Major Duties:

  • Responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the golf program. Assists in managing and supervising the golf pro shop, driving range, golf cart rentals, cart storage, starters, course marshals, club rentals, resale operations, tournament play, lessons programs, and special events. Assists with coordinating, planning, developing and executing special events. Assists with processing daily reports and employee time card/payroll activities. Assists in assuring adequate stock levels of pro shop merchandise at all times following established procedures. Participates in maintaining inventory reports and records. Ensures proper display, pricing and sale of a wide assortment of merchandise. Maintains a reservation system in compliance with established policies and informs supervisor of problems or concerns. Resolves complaints promptly and fairly. Provides information to patrons to ensure operational and safety requirements are followed. Assist in staffing, training, supervision and communication to subordinate employees. Notifies supervisor of disciplinary problems. This position is a working position with regular scheduled shifts that may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: At least 5 years in golf course operations and management preferred. 4-year degree in business or golf related course study is desirable. Professional golf management education and PGA membership preferred. Possess an extensive and detailed knowledge golf pro shop operations, principles and practices. Must have knowledge of golf equipment and apparel. Knowledge of inventory procedures, controls, merchandise and· visual displays. Prefer knowledge of principles of accounting and budget preparation. Ability to maintain reports and 'records. Must have experience in supervision of employees and work independently. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with others. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check (NACI).
