Kings Oak & Cavell Hospitals in Enfield are part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. 

We have an opportunity for a Operations Manager to join their team of staff in the Senior Management Team.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

  • Deliver a high standard of operational oversight across non-clinical services, ensuring alignment with agreed service levels and performance targets.
  • Actively engage with patients, visitors, and consultants to assess service satisfaction and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Provide visible daily leadership, supporting hospital communication through regular cell meetings and cross-departmental coordination.
  • Attract, retain, and develop a high-performing team, acting as a mentor and role model to ensure staff are motivated and engaged.
  • Manage direct reports in accordance with HR policies and procedures, including performance management, absence, grievance, disciplinary, and capability processes.
  • Lead initiatives to build team capability, foster accountability, and support personal development across departments.
  • Ensure a robust governance framework is in place across non-clinical areas, with appropriate escalation and action planning for incidents and complaints.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets, ensuring costs are controlled in line with financial targets.
  • Support the delivery of NHS contracts, including adherence to RTT 18-week pathways and relevant compliance reporting.
  • Participate in the hospital’s on-call manager rota, including evenings and weekends, providing senior leadership coverage as required.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Proven experience in operational or general management within a healthcare, hospitality, or regulated service environment.
  • Educated to degree level or postgraduate leadership and management qualification or significant management experience and willingness to undertake a leadership and

management qualification.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, compliance frameworks, and governance principles.
  • Financial awareness, including budget setting and cost control.
  • Experience working within a private hospital or NHS partner organisation.
  • Familiarity with NHS RTT standards and Standard Contract requirements.
  • Understanding of incident management systems and audit frameworks.
  • Experience in leading service improvement or digital transformation initiatives.
