Project Scope - Warehouse Operations & Safety Design
This project centers on improving the overall safety and efficiency of the JAS warehouse by analyzing how forklifts, associates, and inventory currently move throughout the building. The intern will study traffic flow, observe congestion points, evaluate blind spots, and assess how the existing layout impacts both productivity and worker safety. Using data, on‑floor observation, and engineering principles, the intern will develop an improved warehouse layout that includes clearly defined pedestrian and equipment zones, better aisle alignment, and optimized storage placement. These enhancements directly support safer daily operations, reduce the likelihood of incidents, and strengthen compliance with required workplace safety standards. The resulting redesign will not only increase operational speed and consistency but also ensure the facility is better aligned with safety expectations and prepared for internal audits, external inspections, and long‑term operational growth.
