Your responsibilities

As NFR LOD1 Operational Risk (OR) Specialist you will not “own” the risk or process, but will act as an OR Expert assisting all parts of the businesses to meet their OR Framework obligations. You will help the business “operationalise” the OR Policies by developing local OR procedures, by hosting or trainings and by hosting and engaging the business to identify and resolve OR events as well as acting as Secretary for a several OR Governance Committees.

You will also need to be a good communicator at the local “operator” level, and equally at the Manager/Director level, helping the business management to properly gauge their OR performance.

The NFR Team’s responsibilities are laid out below. Your exact role therein will depend on an evaluation of your attributes and an on-boarding discussion and liaison with the other members of the team.

The NFR LoD1 Team’s primary responsibilities are:

Support the Local OR Frameworks

  • Support the Local Business and LOD1 managers in the implementation of a fit for purpose LOD1 Operational Risk Management and L1C framework within their entity
  • Animate and support the business in managing their OR Risks in a timely and high qualitative manner.
  • Ensure that (i) L1C controls are deployed and carried out, (ii) losses and incidents are analyzed and timely reported and registered, (iii) risk responses (issues, actions, waivers, acceptances) are formalized and followed-up at entity level
  • When relevant, make sure Non-Financial risks are identified and qualified (e.g., RCSA)
  • Ensure that the local framework is compliant with the Ayvens group and local regulatory requirements and internal requirements
  • Support, advise and train the Local Business and LOD1 managers to raise awareness and ensure applicable group policies, procedures, methodology and processes are implemented locally
  • Ensure its continuous improvement, for the internal control framework to remain fit for purpose
  • Provide inputs to Central LOD1 NFR & Compliance team to participate to the framework continuous improvement

Coordinate the local LOD1 NFR Community (Local Business & LoD1 Managers)

  • Identify, create and animate the local LOD1 NFR community by sharing good practices and providing trainings, guidelines and support as needed
  • Provide training and support for NFR IT tools used within the entity to manage the local frameworks in coordination with the LoD2-Operational Risk and LOD2 Compliance team
  • When applicable, contribute to the NFR governance:
  • Assist/ support the Local Business and LOD1 managers to prepare and chair the local committees when applicable: ICCC, NPC & OS committees…
  • Assist/ support the Local Business and LOD1 managers to contribute to other LOD2 Local committees: LOD2 ERC, COMOP….

Other

  • Local Administration of some of the OR Framework Tools (e.g. MyControls & MyIncident) and local training where needed
  • Interact with different stakeholders: Local Business and LOD1 managers Business experts within the entities, Central LOD1 NFR & Compliance team, Local NFR LOD2 Team etc.
  • Follow-up the audit recommendations completion proactively as needed in coordination with the local RCD
  • Other tasks as agreed with the central and local management (i.e. project related)

Who are we looking for?

  • The right person with the right mindset | Meet people, understand the processes, understand where the OR risks are. Help the business improve the gaps.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ practical and relevant experience (e.g. Risk Management, Audit, BPM, Internal Control or Compliance)
  • Experience with operationalizing Risk Management frameworks (e.g. BASEL)
  • Background in banking, leasing or big 4 companies (preferred)
  • University degree in a Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration or Risk Management (preferred)
  • Advanced user of MS Excel and/or experience with gathering data from databases
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) whereas the local language is an additional asset
