Purpose of Role

An opportunity within the Enterprise Resilience Office supporting the Operational Resilience Programme has become available reporting to the Head of Resilience, SSBI and Head of Enterprise Resilience Office EMEA.

The successful candidate will develop and lead the implementation of State Street’s Global Resilience Programme, the goal of which is to ensure State Street is able to prevent, respond to, and recover from operational disruptions through Global policies and frameworks accounting for local regulatory guidance and best practice.

The Operational Resilience AVP will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the framework inclusive of: maturing the quality, coherence and impact of our resiliency infrastructure, operation and internal service provision across State Street. This role will contribute to the execution of State Street’s operational goals and plans, by working in partnership with divisional/group management and/or external organizations to achieve the organization’s strategic resiliency and availability objectives.  They will also ensure that we are meeting our regulatory requirements.

Major Responsibilities

Role Specifics

  • Perform the role of business partner supporting the business in implementing the Global Resilience Programme
  • Assess the regulatory requirements for the different Critical Business Services and entities in the region and compare to current approach being taken, identifying any gaps and proposing required uplifts, actions or mitigations
  • Work in tandem with global programmes to ensure global consistency and regional differences if required
  • Apply knowledge of business unit operations and leverage that to develop and execute the Enterprise resiliency programme and associated standards
  • Implement and support the business units in their execution of the repeatable framework of cyclical resilience activities to meet strategic and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee integration of IT Resiliency, Business Continuity, Internal Outsourcing and Vendor Management programmes to ensure understanding of resiliency capabilities and to identify gaps and influence the business to address or accept associated risk
  • Provide programme oversight to ensure business partner and control function understanding and effective execution of program standards
  • Facilitate workshops and provide expertise / experience provide SME support
  • Project leading and actively participating in wider state street projects related to operational resilience
  • Presenting to boards, producing documents for board reporting,
  • Being involved in meetings with Global EVPs, and supporting local SMFs
  • Promoting a culture of operational resiliency awareness and appropriate governance
  • Deputising for manager when required, including on client interactions
