About the role:
The operational excellence specialist role exists to deploy and embed the operational excellence standards into Site to deliver the business strategy and improve business performance (quality, safety, service, cost, cash, sustainability, innovation and people) through continuous improvement.
Role responsibilities:
Support day-to-day deployment of the HAPS and performance improvement activities at site. Deliver according to the HAPS implementation approach / road map agreed with the Site Director, Regional HAPS lead and Site Operational Excellence lead.
Work with line managers to identify and agree the priorities for HAPS deployment.
Support continuous capability development of self and others, developed by the HAPS Core team to lead cycles of improvement.
Actively role modeling HAPS skills and behaviors.
Track progress of the team deployment roadmap.
Support/ensure consistency of progress and deployment.
Train, coach, guide and facilitate Site team leaders and operators to develop, sustain continuous improvement mindsets and behaviors.
Provide expert advice on the HAPS basics to the Site based on an in depth understanding of HAPS.
Lead HAPS activities beyond the capability of the Site Teams.
Ensure strong compliance in Quality, EHS, Legal and other critical parts of the business related to the area responsibility.
Support routine waste mapping and alignment to Value Stream Mapping process and Lean Tools.
Support to build HAPS maturity along by maturing business KPI.
Drive performance to improve quality and EHS standards in the area responsibility, in accordance with Haleon’s strategic objectives and with applicable law.
Drive a culture of transparency and total disclosure for effective problem-solving.
Supporting in identifying, monitoring, tracking & execution CI & VE projects.
Comply and ensure compliance to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Quality and other related policies, guidelines, and requirements as applicable by law and Haleon Corporate Guidelines.
Comply and ensure compliance to Environment, Health and Safety policies, guidelines and requirements as applicable by law and Haleon Corporate Guidelines.
Any other responsibility assigned from time to time as per business requirements.
Candidate profile:
Bachelor of Engineering with 2–3 years of relevant industry experience
Experience in a manufacturing environment across key functions such as Production, Maintenance, Engineering, or Operational Excellence
Proven hands-on experience with Continuous Improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma, IWS, WCM, OPEN+)
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, leveraging data analytics and process engineering to drive efficiency and eliminate losses
Awareness of FMCG/FMCH operations and a strong focus on customer centricity
