Operating Mechanic
The Operating Mechanic D role at Mosaic involves performing operational and maintenance tasks at warehouse and distribution facilities. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous learning and requires competency in standard operating and maintenance procedures.
What you’ll do:
General Labor & Housekeeping: Clean up equipment, work areas, and grounds; maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Operations: Operate and maintain conveyor systems; load trucks using front-end loaders and conveyor systems; unload sulfur barges and railcars; operate various hand and power tools (impact wrenches, grinders, saws, drills).
Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance on trucks, rail unloading stations, and conveyor belts; conduct mobile equipment repairs and maintenance of boilers and tank vessels.
Safety & Compliance: Follow Mosaic’s Lockout/Tagout program; participate in safety meetings and training; wear proper PPE and comply with EHS policies.
Training & Progression: Complete training programs and demonstrate competency in SOPs; progression may include roles like loading operator, vessel person-in-charge, ship loader operator, payloader operator, sulfur rail unloader.

What you’ll need:
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred; associate degree in process technology is a plus.
Experience: 1–2 years in an industrial setting preferred; experience operating mobile equipment is a plus.
Skills: Basic computer skills; ability to read, write, and perform basic math; good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Certifications: Valid driver’s license; TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required after hire.
