About the Opportunity

The Associate Program Director/Open Rank Clinical Faculty in the Doctor of Medical Sciences Healthcare Leadership program is responsible for assistance and support of the Program Director and assistance in the overall management of the Program with a crucial role in educating and mentoring students, developing leaders in the healthcare industry, and contributing to the overall academic environment of the Program and Department. The Associate Program Director reports to the Program Director. The position is full-time and is a non-tenure track faculty position. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the education and professional development of future healthcare leaders. The position is primarily remote with some on-ground requirements.

Teaching

  • Teach courses in healthcare leadership, management, policy, and related areas, providing high-quality instruction and fostering an engaging learning environment.

  • Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments aligned with current trends and best practices in healthcare leadership.

  • Advise and mentor students, offering guidance on academic and career paths in healthcare leadership.

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the program curriculum, incorporating emerging trends, technologies, and challenges in the healthcare industry.

  • Oversee and guide students in their thesis research projects, ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines and research protocols.

  • Assist students in formulating research questions, designing studies, and analyzing data relevant to healthcare leadership.

  • Provide regular feedback and support throughout the thesis research process, including critical evaluation of methodology, data interpretation, and scholarly writing.

  • Create a supportive research environment, fostering students' independent thinking, creativity, and professionalism.

  • Facilitate opportunities for students to present their research findings, both within the program and at external conferences or symposiums.

Administration

  • Assist the Program Director with overall management of the Program.

  • In collaboration with the Program Director, the Associate Program Director is responsible for primary oversight of the Thesis advising process and management including recruitment of qualified experts for thesis committees.

  • Perform additional assignments at the direction of the Program Director.

Service

  • Participate in departmental and university committees, actively contributing to academic policies, program development, and strategic planning.

  • Foster collaborations and interdisciplinary partnerships within the department and across disciplines to promote innovative research and educational initiatives.

  • Serve on all appropriate College and University committees as determined by workload.

  • Engage in outreach activities, such as serving on advisory boards, partnering with healthcare organizations, or participating in community events, to contribute to the healthcare leadership community.

  • Actively recruit and mentor prospective applicants and participate in the admissions process.

Research and Scholarship

  • Conduct research and scholarly activities related to healthcare leadership and management.

  • Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at conferences and professional events.

  • Maintain an active presence in professional organizations and networks, staying up to date with industry developments and advancements.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a Healthcare Related Field by the appointment start date.

  • Demonstrated expertise in healthcare leadership and management, supported by a strong publication record and research accomplishments.

  • A minimum of (5) five years of experience in the healthcare or clinical research.

  • A minimum of (3) three years of education experience (i.e. lecturer, preceptor, or as a core faculty member)

  • Previous experience in teaching and mentoring students in healthcare leadership or administration.

  • Proficiency with computer technology (i.e. Microsoft Office suite, word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, databases)

  • Ability to engage students in active learning and foster critical thinking skills.

  • Strong research skills, including the ability to design and conduct studies, analyze data, and disseminate research findings.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in healthcare leadership practices and policies.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Pay Range:

52-week Salary Ranges: Assistant Clinical Professor: $118,000.00 - $136,000.00 | Associate Clinical Professor: $130,000.00 - $151,000.00 | Clinical Professor: $143,000.00 - $168,000.00

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to change.
