This is an onsite position dedicated to the US Army ACE system at Ft. Campbell, KY Military base.
Location and Travel:
Location: Ft. Campbell, KY Military Base (Onsite)
Commute: Must reside within 1 hour of the base.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Travel (Air): Up to 10% travel by air required for training.
On-Call: Requires year-round on-call availability for occasional after-hours support.
Job Responsibilities:
The Onsite Federal System Technologist (FST) is responsible for optimizing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and documenting complex communication systems, often operating with indirect supervision.
System Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform advanced troubleshooting and timely repair of equipment (Motorola Land Mobile Radio Products, specifically Astro 25 Trunking).
Conduct optimization, maintenance, testing, and documentation of complex communication systems (RF and Broadband).
Perform preventative maintenance routines, focusing on trend analysis and documentation.
Maintain and troubleshoot server hardware/OS and software infrastructure.
Develop solutions for difficult technical problems related to system maintenance, upgrades, and support.
Technical Expertise & Communication:
Provide expert understanding of Motorola systems to support design, troubleshooting, and maintenance of product lines.
Verbalize and communicate technical concepts and recommendations effectively to customers and Motorola Solutions internal teams.
Provide customer training on Motorola Land Mobile Radio Products (state-of-the-art Astro 25 Trunking).
Team with Engineering, Project Management, and Sales to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
Provide weekly reports on activities and accomplishments.
Complete significant administrative work, including close-out packages, documentation processing, and maintaining accurate project records.
Technical Expertise:
Experience working with Motorola Infrastructure Technologies (Astro25 cores, MCC Console line, and third-party networking equipment).
Proficient in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance (cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, bridges).
Strong networking skills (LAN and WAN) required.
Knowledge of wired/wireless communications systems, RF interfaces, and logging recording systems.
Understanding of IA systems and Domain Administration in a Network Administration position.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
Strong self-management skills; self-motivated and able to perform with indirect supervision.
Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
Ability to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.
High sense of urgency, strong work ethic, and results oriented.
Strong reading and writing skills in English are mandatory for all documentation and communication.
Citizenship & Clearance:
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.
Valid driver's license with no traffic violations.
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
Target Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 USD
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

3+ years of experience in one of the following: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Motorola equipment, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering, Networking Equipment, IP Networking, Solutions Architecture, ASTRO 25, P25, WAVE VoIP, or Military experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s)
