Job Purpose

To lead the development and execution of brand strategies and annual plans for the Oral Health Care (OHC) and Digestive (DG) portfolio in Sri Lanka/Maldives Market Including Sensodyne, Sensodyne Toothbrush, Corsodyl, ENO, and other related products and brand extensions to ensuring the achievement of annual revenue (top-line) and profitability (bottom-line) targets.

Key responsibilities

Brand & Category Strategy

  • Develop strategies for brand and category growth based on consumer need states, brand positioning, and market trends, ensuring alignment with overall corporate priorities.
  • Create a roadmap for key growth drivers and lead implementation to achieve projected category and brand growth.
  • Continuously review and evaluate brand strategies against performance, market developments, and competitor activities, taking corrective actions where necessary.

Portfolio & Pricing Management

  • Achieve profitability targets for assigned brands through optimal portfolio and pricing strategies.
  • Manage portfolio strategy in line with market requirements and ensure effective pricing strategies within a price-controlled environment using robust market intelligence systems.

Sales & Distribution Alignment

  • Collaborate with the sales team on annual sales plans and align sales and distribution strategies to achieve target volumes and revenue.
  • Manage brand activities in the Maldives market to drive penetration and achieve set objectives.

Budget & Cost Management

  • Efficiently manage A&P budgets to deliver agreed brand profitability, coordinating with media agencies for cost-effective planning, supply chain for promotional material, creative agencies for communication assets, and customer marketing for trade promotions.
  • Control inventory transitions during innovation, renovation, and promotions to minimize write-offs and ensure smooth execution.

Brand Equity & Marketing Plans

  • Develop and implement brand marketing plans within approved budgets and timelines.
  • Build and sustain strong brand equity, image, and awareness for existing and new products.

Shopper & Consumer Insights

  • Identify shopper insights, purchase drivers, and barriers for respective brands.
  • Develop actionable shopper insights and strategic shopper plans based on research and data.
  • Create and maintain shopper profiles and develop activation programs that bring these plans to life.
  • Drive shopper marketing innovation by testing and sharing results of new initiatives.

Innovation & Product Lifecycle

  • Develop and execute a secure innovation pipeline aligned with local consumer needs and global innovation strategy.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging consumer trends and proactively build a full innovation funnel.
  • Manage the Innovation-to-Market process, ensuring timely launches through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lead product lifecycle management from concept to obsolescence.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business management, master’s degree would be desirable
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in leading brand management and marketing operations within the FMCG sector.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing strategic brand plans that drive market share and profitability.
  • Strong experience managing cross-functional teams, including Sales, Trade Marketing, and Digital, across diverse markets.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to build talent and enhance team capability.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering clear insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Solid understanding of FMCG market dynamics, consumer behavior, and category trends.
  • Strong knowledge of brand performance frameworks, including pricing, portfolio management, and ROI-driven marketing mix optimization.
  • Experience in digital marketing, e-commerce, and data-driven decision-making is an advantage.
  • High commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to manage complex brand challenges and competitive pressures.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify growth opportunities and implement long-term, sustainable brand strategies.
