Office Clerk – Manufacturing Operations – Fort Dodge, Iowa
Reporting to the Plant Human Resources Manager, this role maintains employee records, processes HR documentation, supports timekeeping activities, assists with onboarding and offboarding, and ensures compliance with HR policies and employment regulations.
The HR Office Clerk works on‑site in a manufacturing plant environment and regularly interacts with production supervisors, plant managers, and employees to support HR processes while maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy.
What You’ll Do
Provide HR clerical assistance to the Plant Human Resources Manager
Maintain accurate employee personnel files, HR records, and documentation in HR systems
Assist with onboarding and offboarding, new hire paperwork, and termination documentation
Assist with timekeeping, including data entry, corrections, and audits
Reply to employee questions regarding HR procedures, HR forms, and company policies
Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, and written correspondence
Coordinate HR documentation for audits and compliance reviews by organizing and maintaining documentation
Ensure compliance with HR policies, employment laws, and HR recordkeeping requirements
Maintain confidentiality when handling employee records, payroll information, and sensitive HR data
Perform additional HR clerical duties as assigned
What You Need
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of clerical, administrative, or office experience (HR experience preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Primarily office‑based with frequent computer use
Occasional walking within the facility and interaction with employees
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
