POSITION TITLE: Parsons Scholars Mentor Fellow

INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH

Parsons Scholars was founded in 1997 and provides NYC, financially eligible high school students with a 2.5 year art and design scholarship. We are seeking Mentor Fellows to support Saturday programming involving one on one mentorship, administrative tasks, as well as pursuing their own research project related to equity and access in art and design.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Youth Advocates during Saturday afternoon sessions with lesson plans and facilitation.

  • Document programming through photographs and written blog posts

  • Organize and maintain inventory room, including restocking supplies

  • Create social media graphics for recruitment, public events, and the annual lookbook


 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Matriculated undergraduate student

  • Organizational and communication skills

  • Interest in art and design education

  • Interest in equity and access in art and design

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • FWS eligible

WORK MODE

  • On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely.


 

Hourly Rate: $18.50

Responsibilities:

Parsons Scholars Mentors support the high school students in the Parsons Scholars Program during afternoon sessions on Saturdays. Their primary responsibilities include gathering materials for workshops, one-on-one support with making, and fulfilling their year-long research project in connection with the Parsons Scholars mission.
