When we do everything in service of our patients and caregivers, no detail gets ignored. As a Nutrition Services Assistant on our team, your job will be to create a healing environment and nutritious food — just like our patients have come to expect. For you, that means joining a team that’s focused on delivering world-class care. In this role, you flex between the retail side at the front counter and support the delivery of food trays. All the while, we’ll provide you with opportunities to keep advancing your career. 

A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 6:00AM – 2:30PM or 11:00AM – 7:30PM, including rotating weekends and holidays. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Perform a variety of duties related to the set-up, delivery and food service. 

  • Assist with daily dietary requests and needs of patients, visitors and caregivers.  

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.  

  • Prepare, set up and replenish steam table, salad bar, cooler, baker’s racks, coffee area, condiments and silverware throughout the meal period.  

  • Make pizzas to order and maintain all ingredients.  

  • Set up and support catering events.  

  • Maintain the register and proper cash handling with overages/shortages of less than 1.5% of total drawer.  

  • Ensure proper food temperature using calibrated thermometers.  

  • Rotate, prepare and label all leftover food.  

  • Set up, serve and collect dinner patient trays.  

  • Complete cleaning assignments.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Good reading and writing skills 

  • Ability to add, subtract and handle other arithmetic functions 

  • Basic computer skills 

  • Can accurately measure and portion formula and food 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • Two years of experience in nutrition in a healthcare setting 

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.

  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.

  • Ability to talk and hear.

  • Frequently required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

  • Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus also required.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
