Summary of Position
The NPI Engineering Intern will assist in managing and coordinating New Product Introduction (NPI) engineering projects from initiation to completion. Responsibilities include supporting project planning, resource allocation, progress tracking, team coordination, and issue resolution. The intern will ensure that project deliverables meet established standards for technical quality, reliability, timelines, and cost efficiency.
Intern Duties & Responsibilities
Understand and lead regulatory and compliance certifications as required (e.g., ISO9000, ISO14000, AS9100, TUV).
Drive continuous improvement and process optimization using proactive methodologies and trend analysis.
Evaluate the adequacy of data collection methods used by teams.
Assist in preparing, monitoring, and assessing equipment setups, manufacturing layouts, and process changes or corrective actions.
Support communication of Jabil’s manufacturing capabilities and Engineering group expertise; promptly identify and recommend solutions for immediate needs or enhancements.
Contribute to quoting activities by participating in initial process design, development, and implementation phases.
Review and provide input on inspection processes through inspection aids and instructional guidelines.
Promote proactive engagement with suppliers and, when possible, support their process improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with Design Engineers on Design for Manufacture considerations.
Suggest innovative ideas for improvement and implement best-in-class practices and processes.
Qualifications
Major(s): Mechanical Engineering (strongly preferred)
Class Year(s): Junior, Senior
GPA: Min 3.0
Experience and understanding of engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in personal computer use, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email communication.
Effective Communication – Self-starter – Ability to drive work
Leadership Skills: Agility, Building Trusting Relationships, Decision Making Skills, & Resilience
Availability: Must be available to work in Clinton, MA from May 18, 2026– Aug 7, 2026
The hourly pay range for this role is $16.00 - $32.00.
