We are seeking a talented individual to join our North America Distribution team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in New York City.. As the North America Distribution Manager, you will lead reinsurer relationship management and drive data‑driven market insights that support Guy Carpenter’s brokers and branch offices across the region. You will serve as a central connector between reinsurers, internal business leaders, and data and analytics teams to optimize engagement, visibility, and portfolio outcomes. This highly collaborative role ensures that Guy Carpenter maintains robust market relationships while leveraging high‑quality reporting and analytics on reinsurer behavior and market trends.  

 

This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

 

We will count on you to:

Market Relationship Management

  • Liaise with International Distribution team on all reinsurer reporting, projects, and engagement
  • Develop strong relationships internally with regional brokers and externally with reinsurers
  • Organize virtual and in-person reinsurer meetings and extend that engagement to some North America conferences or events where Distribution presence is needed
  • Act as the primary point of contact for US/Canadian market stakeholders, addressing inquiries, resolving issues
  • Coordinate with line of business experts (Center of Excellence leaders) on market trends and reinsurer appetite
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities

 

Data and Reporting Management

 

  • Work within Distribution team for reinsurer partnership reporting - especially in the visualization and presentation of key data insights
  • Liaise with Data Strategy team to surface data from the Lake to curate insights on reinsurer behavior and market trends
  • Liaise with Guy Carpenter Marketplace team on key data points needed for client and reinsurer engagement
  • Work closely with US-based data engineer on Power BI dashboard development and visuals
  • Support the production of regular and ad hoc reports for internal stakeholders
  • Continue presence in the market with reinsurance broking work (can be candidate dependent) – Maintain real-time experience in the market.

 

 

What you need to have:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging and influencing a range of stakeholders, including external partners and internal senior leaders.
  • 5-7 years in insurance /reinsurance
  • Proven experience in data management, analysis, and reporting, with proficiency in tools such as Excel and business intelligence platforms.
  • Solid understanding of re/insurance market terms, dynamics, and the role of reinsurers within the value chain.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and deliver high‑quality outputs with strong attention to detail.

What makes you stand out:

  • Experience in a distribution, market management, or carrier/broker relationship role within the (re)insurance industry.
  • Hands‑on experience building or enhancing dashboards and data visualizations (e.g., Power BI) to support commercial or market management decisions.
  • A track record of leveraging data‑driven insights to shape market strategies, support business development, or improve partner engagement.

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $104,500 to $228,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
