Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring an Air Communications Specialist for the Nightingale helicopter.
This is a Flexi/rotating shift position.
The Air Communications Specialist receives, processes and transmits communications using radiotelephone and computer aided dispatching equipment in accordance with regulations as guided by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance medical missions and other aircraft. This individual maintains records and communications center-related documentation of transport requests in addition to other required records required by regulatory agencies and departmental procedures. This role also assists the Transfer Center staff as directed.
Public or private safety dispatch, or commercial ambulance service communications experience preferable. If no prior experience as listed, customer service call center experience may substitute.
