About the Role

Are you a fresh graduate with a head for numbers and a heart for starting up new businesses? We are looking for a New Ventures Protege to join our People & Transformation division. In this role, you won’t just be crunching numbers; you will learn how a leading converged solutions provider plans, budgets, and forecasts for the future.

This is a developmental role designed to give you hands-on experience in finance, business partnering, performance management and P&L analysis. You will work alongside experienced managers who will mentor you as you grow your career.

What You Will Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)

  • Support the Planning Cycle: Assist the team in compiling data for the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and quarterly forecasts relating to new ventures. You’ll see how we set targets for the year.

  • Performance Reporting: Help prepare monthly financial reports and dashboards. Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across acquisition, engagement, revenue and cost metrics. You will learn to tell the story behind the numbers—explaining "actuals" vs. "budget."

  • Data Analysis: Dive into financial data to spot trends. For example, helping us understand where we are spending money and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

  • Process Improvement: We love new ideas! If you see a way to automate a manual report using Excel or other tools, we want you to build it.

  • Market Research: Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking, and consumer insight analysis to support new venture development.

  • Business Case Building: Assist in building business cases and financial models for new proposals, partnerships, and pricing strategies.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.

  • Experience: Fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply! (0–2 years of working experience). Audit, accounting, FP&A, consulting experience (including internships) would be a plus.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    • Basic knowledge of PowerPoint for presentations.

    • Bonus: Familiarity with Power BI or SAP is a plus, but not required (we will teach you!).

  • Soft Skills:

    • Curiosity: You ask "why" when the numbers don't look right.

    • Detail-Oriented: You take pride in accuracy and double-check your work.

    • Communication: You can explain complex data simply and clearly.

Why Join Us as a Protege

  • Mentorship: You will be paired with a specialist to guide your learning journey.

  • Real Impact: You will work on live projects that impact the company’s bottom line, not just "busy work."

  • Future Ready: Gain exposure to the latest financial tools and digital ways of working at Maxis.

Duration of Programme: 12 Months
