About the job:
The Network Reliability Engineer ensures the stability, scalability, and performance of the company’s network infrastructure - from design through to operations. This role is responsible for building and maintaining highly available network systems that support mission-critical data center operations.
This is a hands-on technical role at the intersection of network engineering and reliability operations, in a complex environment where uptime is non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
Network Operations & Reliability
- Design, implement, and maintain reliable and scalable LAN/WAN and data center network infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance, latency, and capacity — ensuring high availability and proactive fault detection.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents quickly, coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
- Drive root-cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures for recurring issues.
- Maintain and enhance network monitoring, alerting, and automation systems.
Architecture & Deployment
- Support the design and rollout of connectivity solutions for new data center builds and expansions.
- Work with the Head of ICT to develop network architecture standards, documentation, and deployment playbooks.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve scalability, security, and resilience.
- Participate in change management, ensuring network updates are tested and deployed with minimal disruption.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Develop scripts and tools (Python, Ansible, etc.) to automate network configuration, testing, and monitoring tasks.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, reduce manual effort, and streamline operations.
- Contribute to building a “network as code” culture with repeatable, testable infrastructure deployments.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with Data Center Operations, Cloud, End User and Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless connectivity between systems.
- Collaborate with external carriers, ISPs, and partners on peering and interconnection projects.
- Support connectivity design for client onboarding and bespoke networking solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on reliability, high availability, or data center environments.
- Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN, EVPN).
- Experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Python scripting).
- Proficiency with network monitoring systems (SolarWinds, NetBox, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
- Deep familiarity with layer 2 and layer 3 troubleshooting, redundancy mechanisms, and high-performance networking concepts.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese.
- Experience with carrier-grade connectivity, Internet exchanges, or fiber network operations.
- Exposure to multi-site data center or hyperscale environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with cloud and hybrid network architectures (AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, etc.).
