The Opportunity:

Performs network services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks. Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents. Performs general LAN/CAN/WAN administration. Schedules conversions and cutovers. Coordinates with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidents. Translates business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders. Performs engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives in support of strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancement design for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures. Assists telecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, and telecommunications strategic program management with network interfaces.

Responsibilities:

•            Design, Build, and Support a network to support Virtualization between two to three sites
•            Knowledge and experience on Cisco products including firewalls, core switches, and top of rack switches ranging from 1 gig to 400gig
•            Design and Support load balancers
•            Managing network OS updates, installing in maintenance windows outside peak working hours
•            Knowledge and experience implementing and maintaining STE/STN compliance throughout the network infrastructure
•            Knowledge and experience of firewall configuration and policy configuration
•            Knowledge of software defined networking technologies like NSX-T
•            Knowledge and experience of network cabling standards
•            Knowledge and experience of site-to-site JPsec VPN's
•            Break/fix troubleshooting
•            After hours support as needed
•            Performance Monitoring
•            CCNP certified or higher

Qualifications:
Eight (8) years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support is required.

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline is required. A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, thereby reducing the total years of experience to six (6) . Five (5) additional years of relevant experience providing Network Engineering support may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.

Certifications: An Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required. Cisco certification is required.

Pay Range:

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$103,800 - $218,100
