The Network Architecture Leader will lead a team of subject matter experts (SMEs) responsible for network architecture, design governance, and standards development across classified environments. This role requires a proven leader with experience managing geographically dispersed technical teams and driving the development, design, and governance of enterprise-wide network infrastructure, platforms, security tools, and associated network applications.

The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership, direction, and mentorship to a highly skilled team, guiding the architecture of complex IT solutions within secure, classified environments. This position plays a critical role in establishing and maintaining scalable, compliant, and resilient system architectures that align with organizational and mission objectives.

What you will Do:

  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of network architects, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and performance management to drive architectural excellence.
  • Lead all aspects of people management, including workforce planning, talent development, training, tool and process improvement, task prioritization, and performance management.
  • Oversee the development and governance of reference architectures and associated architectural artifacts, ensuring alignment with technology strategy, roadmaps, and requirements.
  • Guide the team in researching, developing, documenting, and modernizing enterprise technology standards across evolving system environments.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Cybersecurity and Integration teams, to architect secure, scalable solutions, providing leadership and execution support for compliance initiatives and operational readiness.
  • Oversee the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, guiding architectural decisions that modernize platforms, reduce technical debt, and enhance system resilience.
  • Report on team operations, performance metrics, and goal execution, while fostering collaboration across directorates on shared initiatives and responsibilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key technology vendors to support solution delivery and innovation.
  • Establish and strengthen partnerships across Raytheon leadership to ensure cohesive solution development, governance, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts across processes, system development, and product integration to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Operate within a hybrid work environment, with up to 15% travel to Raytheon locations as required.
  • Candidates should be located within commuting distance of the RTX facility in Tucson, AZ.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience
  • Experience leading teams in technology environments, either in IT/DT, Engineering, or other STEM discipline environments.
  • Experience in networking technologies and services (routing, switching, network security, resilience, observability, etc.).
  • Experience with cyber security compliance and knowledge of US Government security standards (RMF, DAAG, JSIG, etc.).
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct in-depth analysis, information gathering, and investigation to diagnose complex problems and enable effective solution development.
  • Experience leading and managing geographically dispersed teams in dynamic, mission-driven settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with program stakeholders, external DoD customers, and key partners, ensuring effective collaboration and relationship management.
  • Proven experience leading teams with both direct and indirect influence, driving outcomes across multiple functional organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of systems development best practices and cybersecurity principles within enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive organizational change.
  • Experience with cybersecurity compliance, system hardening, process controls, and risk management practices.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex challenges, develop effective solutions, and drive timely resolution.
  • Strong ability to prioritize, balance, and execute multiple competing tasks and strategic initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of Risk and Opportunity Management processes and methodologies.
  • TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Practitioner certified.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
