ROLE SUMMARY
The National Field Medical Strategy Lead, Hematology will establish the field-based HCP engagement strategy and provide oversight and direction for the US Oncology Field Medical Hematology Team. This colleague will serve as the primary medical lead to engage and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders throughout Medical Affairs, Commercial, Clinical Development and Operations, and CMAO Platform Functions. This role ensures that field medical insights are analyzed and shared in a concise and actionable way to inform strategy across Pfizer Oncology. Responsible for partnership with Therapeutic Area USMA Lead to create aligned strategic plans consistent with US Oncology Medical Affairs single medical organization approach. Responsible for all aspects of Field Medical Team execution, including supervision of field-based Team Leaders and accountable for attainment of US Medical Affairs business objectives. The position will report directly to the US Field Medical Lead and will be an integral part of the US Field Medical and the US Medical Affairs Leadership Team. They will be empowered to make decisions and drive results, which will require scientific subject matter expertise, strong business acumen, effective communication, and coaching/development skills.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategically partner with US HQ Medical Team to develop and execute field medical strategy and tactics while serving as a core member of the US Medical Leadership Team
Develop, implement and proactively refine external HCP engagement field medical strategy to support optimal execution of field-based tactics
Analyze and communicate field medical insights as part of a continuous cycle of strategic alignment
Collaborate with US National Commercial Franchise Lead to ensure optimal and compliant collaboration across medical and commercial teams to support business needs
Coordinate with Clinical Development and Operations Teams on strategic priorities and field medical enablement for company-sponsored studies
Partner with CMAO Platform functions to develop oncology and therapeutic area specific key performance indicators and dashboards for medical impact
Evaluate field medical team performance to optimize execution and appropriate support across programs
Contribute to field medical content development strategy and resource assessment with Therapeutic Area Scientific Communications Lead and Medical Content Channel Team
Accountable for ensuring training for field medical team in partnership with Medical Content Channel Team
Coordinates field medical Congress Strategy and HCP Engagement Plan
Manage T&E and project budget for Hematology Field Medical Team
Managerial responsibility for field-based Team Leaders
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs
Field Medical leadership experience
Strategic thinker and strong problem-solving skills with proven track record of leading high functioning field medical teams
Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and time management skills with high emotional intelligence
Strong collaborator with demonstrated agility to work well in a dynamic environment and collaborate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
PhD, PharmD, MD or MS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Malignant hematology field leadership experience
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to regularly fly on airplanes (e.g., attend HCP/customer meetings; attend NYHQ meetings, regional and national scientific meetings, etc.) required
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
• Flexibility to travel 60–80%
• Proximity to airline hub city preferred
• Ability to work on weekends occasionally (e.g. attend advisory boards and congress meetings)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $254,100.00 to $423,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
