National Development Director

JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.

The National Development Director (NDD) is a “Hunting” position and responsible for acquiring new gross profit and market share while developing ongoing relationships with new and existing customers.
The NDD will pursue large opportunities (Platinum level $ 150K GP per year and above). He or she will also cooperate with account management and vertical teams as directed by local management.


JAS Corporate management can direct the NDD to develop specific products and markets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

·         Develop sales strategies to increase our PLATINUM/Diamond and Multinational customer base.

·         Maintain a thorough knowledge of products and services offered by the company.

·         Travel throughout assigned territory to meet with regular and prospective customers.

·         Able to develop and maintain strong business relationships.

·         Provide pricing, credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.

·         Provide activity reports and sales plans for the assigned territory.

·         Actively participate in aggressive sales and skills training and/or any other company sponsored sales meeting as indicated by management.

·         Adhere to all requirements outlined in the Sales Policy

·         Must adhere to usage of our CRM system.

·         Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Excellent organizational skills

·         Excellent written and verbal skills

·         Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills

·         Thorough knowledge of transportation industry logistics and freight forwarding

·         Thorough knowledge of successful sales techniques

·         Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.

·         Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.

·         Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·         College degree preferred

·         10+ years' successful sales experience in freight forwarding, logistics and or transportation industry

·         In depth of freight forwarding product and operations, including Ocean, Air, and Warehousing

·         Must have experience targeting Fortune 1000 Companies/Multi-National/Enterprise Accounts

·         Familiarity working with customers in the West and/or Pacific NW region is a plus

·         Proven experience exceeding set sales metrics

·         Experience with CRM system(s)

·         The preferred candidate for this role must be based in the South-East region of the United States due to targeted market penetration.

MEASURMENT:

·         NDD will be measured on the production of USA PAID (Controlled Business and foreign to foreign gross profit) for new and existing accounts.

·         GP paid outside of JAS USA WILL NOT be credited to NDD GP goal.

 

KPIs:

·         NDD are expected to meet or exceed the following annual KPIs.

·         3 Platinum or higher New Logos / Accounts per year

·         Grow new GP by a min. of $500k + annual salary multiplied by the number of years in service in the role.

·         Adhere to all reporting and JAS administrative requirements.

ENVIRONMENT:

Role requires traveling, which could be (up to 50%) required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
