Your Role: National Account Director- Group Purchasing Organizations
The National Account Director for Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with key GPOs to drive sales growth, contract compliance, and market penetration. This role requires a deep understanding of GPO structures, contract negotiations, and collaboration with internal teams to maximize business opportunities.
Your Responsibilities:
Strategic Account Management:
Develop and execute strategic account plans while serving as the primary liaison to national and regional GPOs, building strong relationships with key decision-makers to drive growth, profitability, and alignment on business objectives.
Contract & Business Development:
Lead GPO contract negotiations, renewals, and compliance efforts while partnering with sales and marketing to drive member utilization and identify opportunities to expand product and service offerings within existing contracts.
Sales & Revenue Growth:
Collaborate cross-functionally with field sales, marketing, and finance to maximize GPO-related revenue, develop and track key performance metrics, and deliver business reviews and presentations to GPO leadership that highlight performance and uncover growth opportunities.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Partner with internal teams to develop programs that enhance GPO member engagement, serve as a subject matter expert on market trends to inform leadership, and represent the company at industry events and GPO meetings to strengthen relationships and overall industry presence.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Required Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in companion animal veterinary pharmaceutical sales.
In-depth knowledge of the companion animal veterinary market and products
In-depth knowledge of the GPO market and industry trends
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
Companion animal strategic account management experience of 1 – 3 years
Ability to influence without authority
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including excellent speaking and presentation skills
Ability to convey messages and motivate various audiences
Experience negotiating deal terms

Travel: 25%-40%

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $103,100 to $185,000 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities). Of course, the compensation is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
