Boeing’s Phantom Works Space SBMC2 team is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineering Manager based in Colorado Springs, CO.

This leader will guide a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting advanced technology development, systems design, and space-ground solutions. The selected candidate will set vision, strategy, and implementation plans while ensuring technical excellence and fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture aligned with Boeing’s mission and values.

As part of Boeing’s innovative and agile Phantom Works division, the SBMC2 team delivers innovative mission systems and capabilities. This position reports to senior leadership and is responsible for overseeing a team of engineers in the Colorado Springs area.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Inspire: Manage employees performing activities across multiple engineering disciplines, providing strong leadership to foster a culture of collaboration and high performance across various programs.
  • Mentorship and Growth: Manage, develop, and motivate employees, demonstrating a commitment to their growth and career development through mentorship and coaching.

  • Empower Teams: Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes, prioritizing team input and innovation to achieve project success.

  • Enhance Team Dynamics: Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Strategic Development: Develop and execute project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures that align with business and technical objectives, while setting clear operational goals.
  • Resource Acquisition and Management: Acquire resources for projects and processes, ensuring effective allocation and providing technical management of suppliers to drive process improvements.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Colorado Springs, CO.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams or projects
  • Product development and systems engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience across the full lifecycle of systems development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage high-performance teams and resolve team performance challenges
  • Prior experience with Model-based systems engineering (MBSE), Internal Research and Development (IRAD), and digital engineering environments
  • Previous management experience and demonstrated leadership outcomes

Summary pay range: $141,100 - $190,900
