MTS Electrical/Hardware Engineer

What a MTS Electrical/Hardware Engineer does at HP:
- Design, integrate, and support electrical and hardware subsystems for MTS test tools used in printhead, ink supplies, and reliability testing.
- Own electrical drive systems and pipeline platforms (e.g., firing system–related hardware) at the system integration level.
- Perform hardware integration, testing, and commissioning of new MTS test tools transferred from global MTS core technology teams to NPDI team.
- Act as Level 3 system engineering support for electrical and hardware‑related MTS issues in the SEA region, including troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
- Support tool characterization, correlation studies, and electrical verification activities to ensure measurement integrity and repeatability.
- Collaborate with global MTS core technology and design teams (Corvallis and India) on hardware enhancements and complex electrical issues.
- Work closely with software control, mechanical, and vision engineers to resolve integrated system‑level issues.
- Support deployment, rollout, and sustainment of MTS electrical test platforms at HP and partner sites.
- Prepare and maintain electrical documentation, including schematics, test specifications, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide engineering‑level support and technical guidance to product, process, and manufacturing engineering teams.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of electrical and hardware systems used in measurement and test equipment.
- Experience with system‑level electrical troubleshooting and validation.
- Knowledge of embedded hardware platforms, sensing, and measurement technologies.
- Familiarity with electrical standards and wiring practices applicable to test systems.
- Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional engineering teams.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical documentation skills.
