[What the role is]
The Corporate Planning (CP) team is part of STB’s Strategic & Corporate Planning division, which guides the strategic direction of Singapore’s tourism sector, identifying growth opportunities, assessing risks, and formulating strategies to advance on our Tourism 2040 roadmap. SCP also manages our engagement with the Board of Directors and our parent ministry, MTI.[What you will be working on]
As part of the Corporate Planning team, the officer will undertake, but not limited to, the following key responsibilities:
1. Lead the workstream on STB’s performance indicators and targets. The officer needs to be data-driven and regularly analyse STB’s performance through our corporate indicators, propose leading indicators, and set benchmarks based on STB’s strategies and priorities. Additionally, the officer will work with STB’s line units to seek alignment and monitor progress, organise timely, regular reviews of performance for senior management, develop and manage our annual reporting of targets and achievements to STB Board and MTI.
2. Work with relevant teams to set up the Management Dashboard on STB’s data analytics platform. The target users of the Management Dashboard are members of STB Management and line units. The officer must work closely with the technology teams to provide user needs on the desired visualisations and user experience.
3. Serve as STB’s deskhead for MTI, working with MTI to manage key reporting platforms and updates for MTI senior management, and discussions on STB’s KPIs and priorities. This includes maintaining oversight of ministry-level / whole-of-government requests and understanding the implications on STB’s planning and processes as a statutory board within the MTI-Family, as well as collating input and data across STB for ad-hoc initiatives.
4. Organise the annual corporate planning cycle for STB senior management and business units to formulate workplans in accordance with STB’s priorities. This involves the organisation of corporate planning discussions among management. The officer also needs to develop cogent and substantive guidance materials to help business units and market offices develop strong strategies for driving tourism performance.
5. In addition, officer will support industry engagement platforms such as the Tourism Industry Conference (TIC).
[Key Relationships]
Within STB, you will be able to engage across all business teams and develop a keen understanding of the tourism landscape and its operating environment. You will also work closely with MTI and other government agencies, where you would be able to learn more about the work of other economic agencies and how their work is integrated to further Singapore's economic development.
[What we are looking for]
Strong interest in the Tourism sector
At least 5 years of working experience
Good stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate diverse and sometimes competing stakeholder interests
Strong analytical skills and ability to deal with complexity and ambiguity
A strong learning orientation including intellectual curiosity and a desire to improve processes and outcomes.
Good verbal and written communication
Proficiency in Excel and data analysis is preferred, relevant experience in corporate planning will be an advantage.
Showing good business acumen, analytical thinking and judgement
Working effectively within STB to achieve results
Working effectively with stakeholders outside STB
