The Role
At Kyndryl we are project-based subject matter experts in all things infrastructure – good at providing analysis, documenting and diagramming work for hand-off, offering timely solutions, and generally “figuring it out.” This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable to every one of your clients.
As the Fabric Administrator you will manage MS Fabric tenant-level governance and operations, including capacity, workspace administration, security, data governance controls, monitoring, CI/CD enablement, and overall platform reliability for analytics teams.
Key responsibilities
Configure Fabric tenant settings, feature toggles, and admin portal controls.
Manage Fabric capacity (F SKU / capacity units), including workload management, throttling controls, and cost/performance optimization; plan scaling strategy.
Define and enforce workspace strategy (domain/team-based), naming standards, and access controls.
Apply governance policies for workspace creation, external sharing, publishing, and content promotion.
Administer role-based access across workspaces and core Fabric items (Lakehouses, Warehouses, Semantic Models) using least-privilege principles.
Implement identity governance using Microsoft Entra ID groups; manage segmentation and controls to reduce data exfiltration risk.
Coordinate with data governance teams to support cataloging, lineage, stewardship, and data ownership practices.
Define platform standards for ingestion, transformations, certified datasets, semantic model reuse, and analytics asset lifecycle management.
Implement monitoring and alerting for refresh failures, pipeline failures, capacity overuse, and service health issues; drive remediation and continuous improvement.
Establish incident response processes, RCA templates, and problem management; manage release cadence, platform updates, and communications.
Support deployment pipelines, environment promotion, and Git integration (where used); standardize packaging and deployment practices across data products.

Required Technical and Professional Experience
Fabric governance blueprint (tenant controls, policies, operating model).
Capacity plan and scaling strategy.
Workspace security model (RBAC, Entra ID group design, segmentation).
Monitoring and alerting design (dashboards, thresholds, on-call/notifications).
CI/CD process and environment promotion approach (deployment pipelines/Git, where applicable).
Data platform runbooks, incident response procedures, and RCA templates.
