Job Summary

MRO Support provides system administration and support enabling efficient and effective Meter and Revenue Operations for our Operating Companies. We are responsible for meter head-end systems such as Landis + Gyr Command Center, Silver Spring Networks Utility IQ, Clevest Fieldnet, and other meter data systems such as Oracle's Meter Data Management System and Meter Asset Management Systems. We drive key strategic initiatives that enhance and improve performance of our systems and business processes, enabling AEP to adapt to rapidly changing meter technology. This position will ensure accurate and timely meter data for the following Business Processes: Billing, Meter Asset Management and Financial Reporting, Regulatory obligations, Revenue protection activities, and Mass Meter Installations. Collaborate with our Operating Company customers, Customer Org peers and IT partners, driving for continuous improvement. This position works under close supervision and assists others to provide support to the Operating Company MRO Organizations. Assists with less complex requests and issues. We are looking for this position to have a primary focus on operations and support of AMI Head End systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide primary business unit level support of AMI Head End systems and AMI advanced metering deployments.

  • Provide support to the Operating Company MRO organizations.

  • Review reports and identify anomalies by applying analytical skills and assist with report generation.

  • Identify the need for and assist in the creation of documentation to support daily responsibilities or end-user training.

  • Participate in the implementation of business processes (such as billing, meter asset management and financial reporting, regulatory obligations, revenue protection activities, and mass meter installations) or systems enhancements.

  • Contribute to the definition and creation of business processes (such as billing, meter asset management and financial reporting, regulatory obligations, revenue protection activities, and mass meter installations)

  • Contribute to the definition of functional requirements.

  • Contribute to the development of Business Case documentation to gain approval for business process enhancements.

  • Participate in test case development and execution of test cases.

  • Assist in the development of documentation to support any new responsibilities or end-user training.

  • Assist in the resolution of end users requests and system defects on less complex issues.

  • Communicate with end users to understand issues and questions on less complex issues, and set expectations of resolution timeframe based on priorities.

  • Effectively engage with external vendors to maintain application functionality.

What We're Looking For:

MRO Business Analyst Associate (Salary Grade 5)

Education: Associate's Degree in Engineering, Business, IT or related field such as Engineering or Computer Technology, or High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience.

Experience: No experience required except as noted above.

MRO Business Analyst (Salary Grade 6)

Education: Associate's Degree in Engineering, Business, IT or related field such as Engineering or Computer Technology, or High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of related experience.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in addition to any years of experience noted above.

Additional Expectations:

  • Travel may be required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Demonstrate behavior aligned with AEP Values (Zero Harm, Integrity and Stewardship, Adapt and Achieve, Customer Focus)

  • Demonstrate initiative and a questioning mindset.

  • Basic competency in PC skills such as Microsoft Office and AEP applications and software. Advanced proficiency in querying languages (SQL, QMF) MS Excel and MS Access a plus.

$81,000.00-$90,000.00 (USD)
