Position Overview

The Warehouse Operations Specialist is responsible for managing a portion of a multi-billion-dollar mortgage warehouse portfolio. This role requires strong independent judgment, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset. The position serves as the primary operational contact for assigned clients, ensuring compliance with bank policies, legal agreements, and funding requirements while delivering a high standard of customer service.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage a designated portion of a $3B mortgage warehouse lending portfolio, applying sound decision-making to mitigate risk and ensure adherence to internal policies and legal agreements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned business clients, responding to service requests and coordinating with Relationship Managers to deliver timely, high-quality customer support
  • Review mortgage loan data and supporting documentation submitted with initial funding requests to determine program eligibility and confirm compliance with warehouse funding criteria
  • Ensure the timely receipt, tracking, and control of original mortgage loan collateral, and facilitate delivery to purchasing investors at the customer’s request
  • Monitor client facility performance from an operational standpoint, participating in regular internal and external meetings and preparing performance and exception reports
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client- and loan-level data within the warehouse management system and supporting operational databases
  • Identify operational risks, discrepancies, or exceptions and escalate issues as appropriate while recommending resolutions
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, data accuracy, and client experience

What do you need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in mortgage warehouse lending, loan operations, credit administration, or financial services
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret complex loan data and legal documentation
  • Demonstrated experience providing account-based customer service to business clients
  • Excellent judgment and risk awareness
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with warehouse lending systems, loan servicing platforms, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal partners
