Let’s talk about the Role: 

The primary role of  Moulding Engineer is to apply moulding engineering principles to the design of tools, manufacturing process development, documentation, and testing for moulded parts. As part of the Global moulding engineering department, you will assist in development and driving implementation of the global moulding strategy. We look for you to be the subject matter expert for moulding (particularly in LSR) within Resmed. You will maintain and advance Resmed’s core injection moulding capabilities and technical understanding at a world-class level. Also, deliver robust and cost-effective technical solutions that achieve competitive cost targets while enabling innovative, high-quality products and exceptional service. In this role, you will be part of an experienced manufacturing team that excels in the prototyping, process development and delivery , directly influencing Resmed’s innovation journey.   

 

Let’s Talk About Responsibilities  

  • Subject Matter Expert in Moulding: Recognized as a subject matter expert in the complete Injection Moulding field and is sought out to provide guidance on risks, resources and opportunities regarding significant projects and technical issues throughout the global moulding team. 

  • Development and Delivery: Develop, qualify, and validate moulding and ancillary processes/tooling for new precision parts/moulds. 

  • Optimize Manufacturing Processes: Analyse existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Conduct regular assessments and adjustments to maintain optimal performance.Drive for standardization and best practices.  

  • Team Collaboration: Works with the other teams of the Global Moulding Engineering Department to develop and drive implementation of core capabilities, strategies and technology roadmaps. Provides support to automation, equipment, and tooling teams and vendors during development of moulding solutions. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development, production, and QA teams to understand their needs and provide technical support for  projects. Ensure that moulding solutions align with production goals and comply with safety and quality standards. 

  • Process Validation & Technical Documentation: Manufacturing Process Validation – Support process qualification and validation activities within a regulated manufacturing environment. Perform DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ activities & ensure accurate documentation. Ensure moulding solutions meet industry standards, documenting changes, validations, and troubleshooting processes.

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience: 

Required: 

  • B.S. in Rubber/Plastics Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent).  

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with injection moulding process development and debug using scientific injection moulding principles in a high-volume manufacturing environment.  

  • Good experience in implementing complete injection moulding cells, and all required auxiliary equipment 

  • Clear understanding of what it takes to injection mould quality parts, including equipment capability. 

  • Keep up to date with current moulding technologies through seminars, magazine, trade shows etc 

  • Excellent organizational and technical communication skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to meet changing demand. 

  • Quality-oriented mindset and proactive in recommending updates to processes where appropriate 

  • High level of communication agility required to work across cross functional teams. Excellent communication and documentation skills, including technical reports. 

  • Achievement-oriented, independent, innovative, explorative, resourceful, with an attention-to-detail attitude. 

  • You are a team player with a can-do attitude and are willing to try, fail, and learn from your mistakes.  

 

Preferred qualifications: 

  •  Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and issue resolution. 

  • Background in medical device manufacturing and Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current base range for this position is: 

$79,000 - $119 ,000
