Middle Office Production Support Officer

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Production Support Officer who will be focused on the reliability and stability of our production applications within Middle Office Asset Servicing Area. An Individual with strong engineering mindset of an SRE,  the personnel will support mission critical production applications and collaborate with fellow SREs, to develop creative engineering solutions to day to day support operational problems. Design , develop and build automation solutions to eliminate manual /error prone work, build resilient systems. Perform periodical capacity assessments, performance, engage with development on reviewing changes and ensure risk assessment is done. Develop run books for critical periodical business activities, maintenance, maintain architecture/data flow documents. Ensure, best practices and standards are followed. Much of support will focus on existing systems, looking at reducing manual work through automation, enhancing business/client experience and collaborating with infrastructure /application development ensuring the permanent remediation of issues.

What you will be responsible for

As a Middle Office Production Support Officer, you will:

  • Ensure production environment is stable and resilient.

  • Diagnose issues proactively and work with development team for resolution.

  • Identify and eliminate redundant operational tasks through automation.

  • Perform analytics on previous incidents and patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions

  • Troubleshoot Major Incidents, involving and engaging all necessary teams, create post mortems, and ensure closure of incident

  • Build and drive adoption for greater self-healing and resiliency patterns.

  • Periodically engage and partner with  infrastructure /application development teams on issues identified as part of proactive monitoring for permanent resolution, to maintain stability of the applications.

  • Engage with development team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes

  • Lead and participate in performance tests; identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization and capacity demands.

  • Work closely with development teams in order to review and assess changes for risk assessment.

  • Understand and identify application process flow and analytics in support of better service level objectives

  • Work with upstream and downstream teams to identify service flows and identify improvement opportunities

  • Work with fellow team members to identify and implement automated process improvements using appropriate scripting utilities/tools following SRE principles.

  • Strong documentation skills when logging product issues, which includes observations, diagnoses, action steps, and tracking errors.

  • Strong communication skills while collaborating across various departments in providing clear, regular updates related to issues

  • Participate in incident, problem and change management process activities

  • Participate and engage in disaster recovery activities to meet organizational compliance requirements.

  • Participate in 24x7 support coverage as needed.

  • Understanding software development lifecycle/Agile principles.

  • · Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Java, etc.)

  • · Hands on experience with deployment, monitoring, automation and operations analysis tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Splunk, Dynatrace

  • Knowledge and experience of working in public cloud (Azure/AWS).

  • Knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and prioritization skills

  • Ability to communicate with various internal teams to resolve Issues and understanding when to escalate

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related degree preferred

  • 2+ years of Software Engineering experience, using one or more object oriented programming languages and/or scripting or

  • 3+ years of Experience in Production Support.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex application logic flow is required.

  • Experience with at least two or more programming languages ( e.g. Python, Java, Perl etc..)

  • Experience with technologies including MQ, Kafka, Java, Oracle,

  • Proven understanding of web technologies and distributed application architecture is required

  • Proven understanding of full life cycle software development methodologies is required

  • Knowledge of application monitoring tools like Dynatrace/AppMon and  telemetry  tools like Splunk is preferred

  • Working knowledge of Agile development practices.

  • Experienced with automation using scripting languages , such as, Python/ Perl /Unix/PowerShell

  • Knowledge of Application /Web Servers/Unix/SQL ( Oracle) .

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • A team player with a sense of ownership and responsibility

  • Cloud Computing Technologies will be a big Plus (Azure/Snowflake/Kubernetes/Dockers)

  • Knowledge of ITSM and ITSM tools ( Service Now/Remedy, etc)

  • Knowledge of Financial services is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and attention to details skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, experience debugging code and troubleshooting logs.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and prioritization skills

  • Ability to communicate with various internal teams to resolve Issues and understanding when to escalate

Work Requirement

  • Hybrid work with Required to be available 4 days

  • Specify Shift timings 8 AM to 5 PM

Salary Range:

$70,000 - $118,750 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
