Northrop Grumman’s Missile Products Business Unit is looking for a Contract Manager 1 to manage a team of contract order administrators in support of the Missile Products Business Unit (MPBU) Contracts team.

The Contract Manager 1 position will support the entire MPBU contracts team leading a team of contract order administrators and working in collaboration with the full contracts team to lead full range of support operations responsibilities.  This position will be located on-site at the Rocket Center, WV location. This position will lead MPBU contracts as subject matter expert during our transition to SAP, to support data analysis and reporting as well as lead our functional audit activities for internal, external and USG contracts audits.  This position requires excellent technical skills, knowledge of our business PrOPs, business policies, experience with how to connect with Division and Sector teams to fulfill contract data calls and data analysis and reporting activities.  This position must be skilled in data analysis and able to collaborate with multiple other functional areas to support business needs along with regular interaction with various levels of executive management to include various functional organizations throughout the OU, BU, Division, and Sector levels.

Essential Functions:

  • This position will provide leadership, support, professional development, and training as needed in all aspects of the contracts discipline
  • Builds and leads a team of highly motivated and effective contract professionals to include training, mentoring/guidance, directing daily activities, delegating work assignments, and ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely work assignment completion of direct reports
  • The candidate will collaborate across functions to advise and lead contract reviews to ensure compliance with new or modified contract awards in support of competitive and sole source Request for Proposals (RFPs).
  • This position will ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • This position will lead audit support preparation and presentation to all contract’s audits, both internal and external.
  • The candidate will also be an advisor to the OU and BU and able to compile and analyze data, maintain historical information, and engage in strategic priorities as needed.
  • The position is responsible for supervision and development of a number of Contracts professional and administrative employees that support the BU.  This includes responsibility for hiring, training, and assigning the workload for its direct reports

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position emphasizes skills and experience. Will consider Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience or related discipline or a Master's or Law degree with 6 years relevant experience
  • 1+ years of management experience and demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent
  • At least 5 years of experience negotiating and administering various contract types of varying sizes and types of agreements
  • Expert knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFAR (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations); as well as experience with different contract types
  • Thorough understanding of the requirements of applicable government regulations
  • Ability to travel several times annually domestically
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of demonstrated people leadership and/or supervisory/management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others
  • Must possess excellent problem solving and decision-making skills that support accomplishment of discipline objective to resolve complex problems and minimize risk to the Corporation
  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions, ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, etc

Primary Level Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $142,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
