We’re looking for a fun, upbeat, experienced morning Meteorologist to join our Good Day Las Vegas Morning Show in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada, home to great food, music, recreation and sports. The Meteorologist forecasts weather conditions, produces, and anchors weather reports for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Produce and present engaging, accurate weather and occasional news reports across all platforms.
- Write and deliver weather stories in a clear, conversational, and approachable style, not over-the-top, but full of warmth and authenticity.
- Ensure all weather and news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
- Collaborate with producers and the morning team to keep the show fun, informative, and true to its mission: sending people out the door prepared for the day ahead, whether at work or at school.
- Bring energy and creativity to the weather storytelling.
- Ability to also report on both community, environmental, science and weather issues.
- Ability to also perform traffic reporting as needed.
Requirements & Skills:
- A degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, or related field.
- At least 3 years proven on-air experience delivering weathercasts is preferred.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills — you make the science relatable.
- A positive, team-first attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced morning environment.
- Familiarity with the latest forecasting tools and digital weather platforms.
- Strong understanding of the field of Meteorology and a proven track record of forecasting.
- Experience is shooting, writing, editing and presenting news reports.
- Understand importance of social media
- Promotes teamwork and maintains attitude of cooperation with all station personnel
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Flexibility to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The Meteorologist must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition, the Meteorologist must be able to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
