Role Summary

Join athenahealth as a Member of Technical Staff – Tech Ops based remotely in Bangalore - Whitefield, India. This role involves providing critical operational support and monitoring for core athenaNet applications and infrastructure to ensure continuous availability and performance. The position reports to the Systems Software Development Manager

Team Summary

The Global Operations team is responsible for 24/7/365 support of the core athenaNet application, including Collector and Clinicals modules, along with all supporting platform and product technology services. This team manages the entire supporting infrastructure across both public and private cloud environments for core athenaNet, athenahealth Enterprise applications, and future technology expansions. The team’s focus is on maintaining high availability, reliability, and performance to support healthcare delivery and business operations. 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage system health using tools such as Assure1, Netcool, Zabbix, SolarWinds, and Nagios/iCinga. 
  • Respond to alerts and incidents to ensure timely resolution and minimal service disruption. 
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues. 
  • Maintain and update monitoring configurations and documentation. 
  • Participate in incident management and root cause analysis processes. 
  • Support deployment and operational readiness of new services and infrastructure components. 
  • Ensure compliance with operational policies and best practices.

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in automation of monitoring and operational tasks. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for operational processes. 
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and training activities within the team. 
  • Support capacity planning and performance tuning efforts. 
  • Collaborate on disaster recovery and business continuity planning. 
  • Help evaluate and implement new monitoring tools and technologies. 
  • Engage in cross-team projects to enhance platform stability and scalability.

Expected Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in technical operations or systems monitoring roles. 
  • Proficiency with monitoring tools including Assure1, Netcool, Zabbix, SolarWinds, and Nagios/iCinga. 
  • Experience with incident management and troubleshooting in complex environments. 
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and enterprise application support. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
