What you’ll do

  • Act as a customer-facing scientific medical liaison expert, engaging with healthcare professionals to exchange scientific and clinical research data on our products within the relevant therapeutic area(s) (60% of working time).

  • Perform tasks related to medical management, including sharing knowledge with the cross-functional team and staying informed about the therapeutic area, product knowledge, and the competitive landscape (40% of working time).

  • Regularly meet with Key Opinion Leaders and influential groups to develop partnerships, share data, and seek and secure support, including for publications.

  • Engage with healthcare professionals in scientific exchange regarding clinical and scientific data related to our products, in accordance with local regulations.

  • Collaborate with internal and external experts on the development of publications as a moderator and/or co-author.

  • Facilitate continuing medical education for healthcare professionals.

  • Undertake activities that contribute to the implementation of the Risk Reduction Plan.

  • Regularly meet with the cross-functional team for formal training, debriefing, and alignment on goals.

  • Attend scientific conferences and serve as a source of information for healthcare professionals.

  • Provide the company with insights into the local medical community, trends in clinical practice, and actual or anticipated gaps in current science and medical treatment.

  • Support preparatory activities for new therapeutic areas, products, and departmental expansion.

  • Conduct training, including induction training, in therapeutic and product areas for Medical Representatives.

  • Monitor competitor activities and discuss research projects with external experts.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of local and regional studies.

  • Assist with various aspects of clinical trials upon request, including scientific support, site selection, and operational issues.

  • Respond to requests for medical information and deliver training to company staff on diseases and products.

  • Maintain high ethical standards and adhere to the company’s Code of Ethics and the Pharma Code.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, standards, and regulations.

Essential for the role

  • University degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or another relevant scientific discipline.

  • At least 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in Medical Affairs, a field medical role, or another scientific customer-facing role.

  • Experience in Oncology would be considered an advantage.

  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific and clinical information clearly and credibly to healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop trusted partnerships with external experts and cross-functional teams.

  • Good understanding of the medical affairs function, the pharmaceutical industry, and compliance requirements for scientific engagement.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality field-based activities in an organized and accountable way.

  • Strong scientific curiosity, learning agility, and commitment to continuous development.

  • High ethical standards and a strong commitment to patient focus, compliance, and scientific integrity.

  • Fluent Bulgarian and English, both written and spoken.

  • Good digital literacy, including confidence using MS Office and other relevant digital tools.

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Bulgaria.
