What you will do:

  • Ensure that mechanical maintenance work is performed in compliance with regulations and company O&M procedure requirements.

  • Be aware of and follow Company safety and work policies.

  • Perform emergency response first responder duties and complete all mandatory safety training.

  • Complete all required Operator Qualified (OQ) training and certifications.

  • Develop and execute equipment lock-outs and routine open system job plans.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot pipeline system mechanical equipment: pumps, valves, tank mixers, mechanical seals, petroleum quality and measurement equipment, motors, fans, and other mechanical equipment.

  • Use maintenance management system, i.e. Maximo, to document maintenance work.

  • Collaborate with the Technical Supervisor, other Electrical Technicians, and Mechanical Technicians, to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance work efficiently and effectively.

  • Coach/mentor new mechanical technicians as well as be coached and mentored by experienced mechanical technicians

  • Maintain station records and update drawings as required.

  • Submit as-built drawings to drafting department to ensure area drawings are up to date.

  • Assist project teams with construction projects as assigned: design reviews, Hazops, pre-bid tours, pre-construction meetings, mechanical equipment installation, and equipment commissioning.

  • Connect with and maintain a positive working relationship with the Control Center operators, Operations and Maintenance personnel, and other internal and external partners.

  • Comply with all DOT rules and regulations as they apply to pipeline operations.

  • Perform Outreach activities for local first responders and assist in station tours and presentations as required

Who You Are:

You have the following education and experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Completion of an approved mechanical apprenticeship program or 2 year mechanical technical/vocational degree preferred.

  • 1-2 years' of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance.

  • Excellent trouble shooting ability.

  • Valid driver’s license & good driving record.

  • Must live (or relocate) within 25 miles of the reporting location.

  • Experience in maintenance of crude oil pipeline, tank farm or delivery facilities or certified technical designation preferred.

  • Familiarity with pertinent equipment (pumps, motors, valves, switchgear, programmable logic controls, motor control centers and instrumentation) preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Available for emergency call via mobile phone, or home phone 24 hours a day.

  • Periodically designated as on-call technician for a week at a time.

  • 75% field mechanical maintenance work and 25% field office work.

  • Occasional work in extreme cold and extreme heat.

  • Work often required in high noise level areas and areas where vapor from crude oil and solvents may be present.

  • Must possess and maintain an acceptable driving record

  • Overnight travel of 10-40 days per year may be required.

  • Primarily field oriented (outdoor) with specific office (indoor) functions for training, meetings and documentation of required tasks, dictated by Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies for which Enbridge must comply.

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 50 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (objects 50 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
