The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer (Experienced or Lead) to support B-52J in the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups in Oklahoma City, OK.
The selected candidate will perform and document analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications; contribute to supplier development, test and production activities and direct the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals; support system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation.
Position Responsibilities:
Lead the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment
Lead the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers
Perform detailed design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations
Prepare technical documents for mechanical components and systems
Prepare proposal and new business development efforts
Work with test program management for work estimation and intake process
Delegate tasks to design team and provide supervision to junior engineers.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
3+ years of experience in mechanical systems design
Experience with and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience in mechanical systems design
5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher
Experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics, and specifications
Experience performing Mechanical System Design and Analysis
3+ years of experience designing tooling using CAD/CAM software, preferably CATIA
Experience producing technical reports and presentations
Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
Experience working with cross functional teams
