Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Information Systems Project Manager. This position can be located in Huntsville, Alabama or Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel program. There is no option for full-time telecommuting in this role.

The qualified applicant will become a part of Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (DS) Chief Information and Digital Office (CIDO), an organization of highly skilled and diverse individuals responsible for providing information technology solutions and services across Northrop Grumman, and driving superior business performance through a robust, secure, cost-effective IT infrastructure which enables collaboration and strategic business partnering to foster innovation and technology.

The selected candidate will serve as Principal/Senior Principal Project Manager and will provide leadership and overall direction to one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects for all project requirements. The selected candidate will also serve as the customer liaison for the project leadership and will manage all scheduling, change management, risk management, and cost management requirements for the assigned projects.

Additional roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• Lead and direct one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations.

• Manage and track status of projects, metrics, financial budgets, and EACs; manage schedules and prepare status reports; and ensure project remediation and ongoing compliance goals are met.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project execution plans, including scope, schedule, resources, risk, and cost baselines.

• Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and programmatic risks; maintain risk registers and drive corrective actions.

• Adopt a positive attitude about Agile processes, ensure tasks are flowing from one phase to the next, and facilitate the basics of the process (i.e. transparency, project information is current, impediments are being eliminated).

• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of customers life-cycles, standards, and supporting processes and practices.

This role may be filled at the principal or senior principal level, depending on the years of experience each candidate brings. This role will require candidates with strong analytical/problem solving skills as well as excellent written/oral communication. Candidates will need to be adept at executive level briefings.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Level:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related professional work experience or Master's Degree and 3 years of related professional experience.

Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related professional work experience, or Master's degree with 6 years related professional experience.

Remaining Qualifications for Both Levels:

  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain a Secret level clearance as well as the ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period, as determined by the company.
  • Familiarity with project management tools including Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, MS Project, Planisware, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated expertise in end to end project planning, schedule development and cost control (EVM).
  • Proven track record of leading multiple, high complexity, concurrent assignments
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active DoD Secret security clearance, or higher

• Experience leading and managing IT related projects in an Agile/SAFe environment.

• Agile or SCRUM certifications.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
