Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers Structures Capability is seeking a Mechanical & Structural Engineering Manager (K Level) to lead a high-performing Structures Design team on the P-8 program in Tukwila, WA.

The successful candidate will have strong engineering expertise, ability to lead projects to completion, possess outstanding communication skills, an interest in growing and developing their team, and a demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Keep safety and quality at the forefront of all activities.
  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering.
  • Leads development of engineering solutions in support of current and future projects.
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management, and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Tukwila, WA.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil)
  • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace Industry working in Structural Design or Analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams responsible for aerospace structural design and/or structural analysis tasks
  • Knowledge of Boeing products and processes
  • Demonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagement
  • Technical background with the ability to guide and mentor the team

Summary Pay Range: $147,050 – 198,950
