As the Mechanical Repair Tech you will be is responsible for servicing customer returned product and ensuring the functional operation of the product. Ensure work is accomplished with high quality, in a timely fashion and is compliant with all company and federal regulations. Work effectively with other team members to accomplish company goals.

What YOU Will Do:

  • Repair products in accordance with product component maintenance manuals to meet regulations. 

  • Disassemble, clean, repair and test fire extinguisher products.

  • Experience with using hand and power tools.

  • Ability to navigate SAP with minimum help. Provide clear details when issues are encountered.

  • Comply with all rules and regulations of Collins Aerospace, including, but not limited to: Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics, International Trade Compliance and Human Resources.

  • Complete assigned tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department goal and objectives.

  • Check work methods and results for conformance to standards.

  • Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.

  • All aspects related to the process of repairs through the service center including receiving, inspection, cleaning, tear-down, documentation, repair, reassembly and packaging of parts for return to the customer.

  • Frequent standing, sitting stooping.

  • Occasional climbing, balancing, crouching, reaching.

  • 1st Shift Hours: Monday-Friday; 7:00AM-3:30PM and work overtime, including weekends, as needed 

  • Always comply with EH&S policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.  Attend EH&S trainings as required.  Report unsafe practices and/or conditions to the appropriate individuals to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards. 

Qualifications YOU Must Have:

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior mechanical experience with 1-2 years complimentary work history.

  • Prior welding experience.

  • Ability to follow testing procedures and be proficient in performing the tasks.

  • The ability to interpret schematics and/or technical drawings.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail to ensure safety and quality.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean work area.

  • The ability to work in a team to support work capacity in a fast-paced environment.

  • Intermediate computer skills in terms of typing, navigating screens and learning new software programs.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

  • Good attendance record.
